The CPALMS standard that I chose was Standard 1 SC.2.HS.1 for the 2nd Grade. This standard encompasses that importance of having students be aware of what is safe to do on the internet, and what could be harmful to them or others. Additionally, the standard covers topics like online communication, privacy, and passwords. Based on my current skill set, I feel very prepared to implement this standard in a classroom because I am very familiar with preforming ethical and smart online practices.

Within the Educator Toolkit, I chose to look at the standards for 2nd Grade English Language Arts, and chose the standard ELA.K12.EE.4.1. This standard expects students to be able to communicate with their peers using "collaborative techniques and active listening skills." The resources provided are 286 lesson plans amongst other resources that a teacher can use to help guide their lesson surrounding this standard. I think that when I am a teacher needing to teach a specific standard, I can review the standard on CPALMS and the resources that I think will help me best.

A teacher needs to fully understand Internet searching because they will be required to utilize numerous online resources to structure their classroom. The Internet searching skills that I will likely use most using forward are searching only the necessary words into Google. Wasting time searching extra words or complete sentences is inefficient. I don't think that I have any Internet searching skills that were not introduced this week.

Using AI in a K-12 setting can be both beneficial and detrimental. I think that AI like ChatGPT can be useful for teachers to get starting ideas on lesson plans or fun projects, but it should not be the sole resource that a teacher uses. Similarly, students can definitely use AI to help with prompts for an essay or other things, but not for cheating. Unfortunately, it seems that as students get older, they use AI in increasingly selfish ways to avoid learning.
