As my time as a student, MS Word has been something that I've consistently utilized for many things. I desperately prefer MS Word over things like Notepad or Google Docs because of the features that MS Word offers. I am very comfortable using MS Word over those other platforms, and I think it is very easy to navigate, as well. MS Word has aided me with creating countless essays, research papers, assignments, and more. I will always use MS Word over any other platform!

The ISTE Standards for Educators has one particular standard that sticks out to me: Collaborator. I think that as an educator, it is vital to have the skills to work with other educators and the students to solve problems. Something that I didn't think about before was how educators are learning with the students as they are trying to teach them. I think that this is an interesting fact because I thought that teachers had to be certified to be "all-knowing" with what they teach and what strategies they use.

The term "digital native" is very accurate to label today's youth because we all grew up with some sort of technology and it has been implemented into our daily lives over the years. I've noticed that some of my teachers, who are considered "digital immigrants," don't utilize the shortcuts in some technological platforms. For instance, when a teacher is playing a YouTube video for the class, instead of pressing the spacebar on the keyboard to pause the video, they drag the mouse all the way to the pause button on the screen to pause the video. I've always thought of this as unproductive, and that it would be easy to learn the faster way. Although some of my teachers do things like that, I don't think my education has been impacted in a negative way. When I become an educator in the future, I hope to stay on-top of technology so that my students feel like the classroom is progressing in a productive way.
